Please note that St. Peter’s Basilica may be closed on Easter, December 24 and 31, and other religious holidays. During these times, the 3-hour tour will be conducted in other areas of the Vatican Museums.
St. Peter’s Basilica is a place of worship and may be closed for religious activities without prior notice. In such cases, a visit to the Vatican Library will be offered as a replacement.
Normally, visitors can enter the Basilica directly from the Sistine Chapel through a separate door, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this entrance is currently closed. Therefore, visitors must exit the Vatican and enter St. Peter’s Basilica through a separate entrance. However, the restriction on guided tours entering the Basilica has been lifted, and visitors can continue their guided tour there until further notice.
