COVID-19 Update – Explore Italy Today

As a tour operator based in Rome, Italy, we strive to provide you with the most up-to-date and accurate information regarding our tours and travel-related services.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many countries have imposed travel restrictions, including Italy. While restrictions have been relaxed in most places, Italy has remained one of the most cautious countries in Europe.

As of June 1, 2021, all COVID-19 entrance regulations have been lifted. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and update our policies as necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of our guests.

During your visit to Italy

  1. As of May 1, 2022, the Green Pass is no longer required for accessing businesses and services in Italy. This means that you can now freely access local and national public transportation, bars, restaurants, museums, theaters, cinemas, and other facilities.

  2. Face masks are no longer mandatory on public transportation as of Saturday, Oct. 1. However, it is highly recommended to wear masks at indoor and crowded outdoor events. Specific locations such as galleries and museums may still require masks. Failing to wear a mask where required may result in a fine of up to $450.

Covid-19 Travel must-haves for Vatican

The Vatican has updated its COVID-19 regulations, allowing most tourists to enter Vatican City State without presenting a Green Pass, vaccination certificate, or test certificate. However, while on tour, it is important to take the following precautions:

  1. Wear a mask that fully covers your mouth and nose during the tour. In certain locations, wearing a mask is still mandatory.
  2. Maintain a safe social distance while on the tour.
  3. Visitors’ temperatures may be checked when entering the venues, and those with a body temperature of 37.5° C or higher may be denied access to the site.
  4. Due to social distancing measures, guided tours now have a limited number of participants, including the guides.

  1. It is important to wear and maintain COVID-19 safety equipment when there are crowds or gatherings in open-air areas.
  2. Personal COVID-19 safety equipment is mandatory inside the site, with the exception of children under the age of 6 and those with medical conditions that make mask-wearing difficult.
  3. Your body temperature will be checked at the entrance. Entry to the site will be denied if your body temperature reading is 37.5 °C or higher.
